Welcome to Class 2
Class 2 Newsletters and Timetables
In Class 2 we believe that learning should be exciting, creative and engaging. We look for opportunities to grow as independent learners and critical thinkers. Our subjects are taught discretely but we look for links between topics where possible. We believe that sharing ideas and working together develops our ability to reflect on our learning and view mistakes as opportunities to grow in both confidence and resilience. In Class 2, we take every opportunity to use our wonderful outdoor area to enrich our learning. Alongside this, we aim to spend one lesson a week learning practical, outdoor skills.
In the mornings, our learning focuses on the Key Stage 1 core curriculum subjects. We take part in a range of independent and group activities focusing on reading, writing and mathematics. In the afternoons, we focus on science and the Key Stage 1 foundation subjects. Often, subjects are linked together to enhance cross-curricular learning. French, Music and PE are taught by specialist teachers who visit our class once a week.
Please see below for this term’s newsletter and weekly timetable.
Please have PE kits in school on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Outdoor learning will be on a Thursday afternoon. If possible, please could you leave old clothes, spare outdoor shoes and wellies in school. We will be going outside to walk, jog or run a mile a day so outdoor shoes will be needed as the weather gets worse.
