Class 2 children will be travelling back in time to 1666, to the time of The Great Fire of London where they will take part in a day of activities, based around the topic.

We have organised a theatre company to come and work with the children during the morning, where a facilitator will visit St Mary's in the role of Mary or William Porter, a resident of Pudding Lane in 1666.

The children will experience London in 1666 recreating life in Pudding Lane, they will become the fire as it grows and spreads, meet the famous diarist Samuel Pepys, and debate the rebuilding of the city.

In the afternoon children will make houses in the style of those in 1666 and modern houses.  We are then hoping to set fire to them, demonstrating why the fire spread so quickly and caused so much devastation.

Anson Primary School Class 2 children, will be joining us for the event.
