Class 3 has a wonderful opportunity to attend a full-day workshop in partnership with Birmingham Rep Theatre to support their Ancient Egypt topic.
In the morning, they will take part in the 'Life and Death in Ancient Egypt' workshop at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. During this workshop, they will learn all about how people lived and died in Ancient, from Pharaohs, to farmers. They will also become Archaeologists and examine artefacts to try and piece together what everyday life might have looked like for ordinary people, from work to leisure and fashion.
In the afternoon, they will head over to the Birmingham Rep Theatre to enhance their experience with a workshop delivered by a Drama Practitioner from the theatre. Children will creatively respond to the themes introduced in their first workshop and explore ideas of Ancient Egyptian burial rituals and the role of Pharaohs through a mixture of games and performance.
Children will be travelling via the school minibus and will return to school by 3:15pm.
All children will require a packed lunch and drink (no fizzy drinks please). School uniform will need to be worn along with a waterproof coat and suitable footwear as there will be a short walk between the two workshop venues.
Permission and payment (both available to view on Arbor) should be made by Monday 28th September.
