Here's an overview of topics for next half term:

In English we will be reading a text called Vlad and the Great Fire of London. It's about a flea and a rat who tell their version of events. We will make posters about the plague, research the great fire, write information texts and retell the story.

In maths Year 1 will be continuing to learn about numbers up to 50.They will then move on to learn about height, weight, length and volume. Year 2 will continue to learn to tell the time. Please practise this as much as possible at home. They will then move on to learn about shapes and fractions.

There are parent white Rose Maths booklets that you can work through at home. The link is below and if you would like any printed off, please let me know.

In History we will learn about the great fire of London. Any research that you would like to do at home would be fantastic. There are knowledge mats on our class webpage. Please take a look over the holiday.

In science we will continue to learn about plants. We will plant our own seeds, garden and learn about what plants need to grow. If you would like to bring it any small plants of seeds that we can plant in school, please do.

In design and technology we will learn to design and build miniature playgrounds using junk modelling and other modelling equipment. For this we will take a trip to the local part as part of our product research.

Children will continue to have PE on a Monday and Tuesday, forest school and dance and drama on a Tuesday. Spellings will stay on Mondays.

In RE our topic will be 'Why does Easter matter to Christians?' If you have any Easter books or resources that you would like to bring in, please do and we will put them on our display.

I hope you all have a wonderful half term holiday and I look forward to seeing you in the Spring!
