What We’ll Build
We have had a fantastic transition morning in Class 2 and enjoyed welcoming our new children into our class. We based our learning on the book ‘What We’ll Build’ by Oliver Jeffers. We have been very creative with our learning today.
Colour and Collage
In art this term we have been learning about colour and collage. Today we have been collaging our initials using photos of ourselves and our families.
Finding the correct conjunction
In English we have been looking basing our writing on ‘The Tale of Peter Rabbit’. Today we have been working in pairs to join sentences using the correct conjunction.
Finding a third
In maths today we have been using the concrete resources to find a third of an amount. We worked in pairs to solve the problems.
Finding a half
In maths today we have been finding a half. We made a pizza and cut it into 2 equal parts. We learnt that 1/2 is one of two equal parts.
Tally Charts
In maths today we created our own ‘Tally Charts’. We collected data on our favourite foods, pets and colours.
Making Cars in D & T
In Class today we have had a Design Technology morning. We have learnt about vehicles, looking at wheels, axels and chassis. We then designed and made our own vehicles.
Making Arrays
In maths today we used the counters to build arrays. We then had to identify the rows and columns within our arrays.
Counting in 5’s
Today in maths Class 2 used their toes to help them to count in 5’s. They worked out how many toes they had altogether in groups.
Counting in 2’s
Today in maths Class 2 have been counting in twos. We used our wellies to help us!
Easter Drama
In RE today the children acted out the Easter story. Jesus is riding into Jerusalem on a donkey and the crowds are shouting ‘Hosanna’. Well done Class 2!
