Circuits
This week we have finished our DT projects. After spending several weeks coming up with designs, planning our designs, testing circuits and then putting it all together.
We had some issues getting circuits to work but persevered, had another go, and we are really pleased with the outcomes.

Green manure?
We spent some time outside gardening today, enjoying the fresh air, chatting and keeping active: all part of day to day life at school and to help with our work on mental health this week. We even learnt about Green manure and it’s use for making the soil in our raised beds richer.

Working as a team
Our Year 1 children are working in pairs to match words and pictures in their phonics session. Today they are looking at the ‘ar’ sound.
Egyptian Day
Highlight of our week was definitely out MAT Egyptian Day at Richard Crosse.
We had lots of fun learning about pyramids, mummification, food, religion and so much more.
We all mixed well with the other schools, some saw old friends, some made new friends.
A fantastic day all round.

Burglar Bill
This week we have read the story Burglar Bill by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. We make predictions about what was inside Burglar Bills’s Big Brown Box. We also built Burglar Bill’s ‘big, tall house’ out of Duplo. We hope you enjoy looking at our pictures. ☺️

More Number Bonds
This week in maths our Year 1 children have been looking at number bonds within and to 10. They have used a variety of resources including the part whole model to support their learning.
Hot Seating
In English we have been basing our writing on the story Pumpkin Soup. Today we writing questions that we would like to ask the duck. One of the children then played the character of the duck and the children asked him their questions. He answered them brilliantly!
Number Bonds
In maths our Year 2 children have been looking at addition facts . Today they are using the tens frames to find all the number bonds to 10.
Story Time
In Class 2 we have been reading the story The Wishing Chair by Enid Blyton. Today we had our story in front of the fire.
