10 October 2019

Image of This weeks learning is all around the story of Winnie's Amazing Pumpkin!

During the week commencing Monday 14th October we will be learning around the story of Winnie's Amazing Pumpkin!

We will make our own pumpkin soup, write lists of ingredients, sequence and talk about the life cycle of a pumpkin, create beautiful autumn tree art work, use autumn objects to develop our number skills and we will also build broomsticks in our wonder in the woods session.

There will be plenty of other autumn themed activities set up for the children to explore. They can count autumn objects onto the trees and match the numeral, print pumpkins using paint and apples, make pumpkins and print autumn treasures in dough, order pumpkins by size, explore pumpkins and describe them, paint with pasta broomsticks, explore the autumn small world area, dress the children for the seasons, build a new broom for Winnie and create their own potions.

In phonics, the reception children will learn more about the sounds o, c, k and ck. We will continue to learn the phase 2 tricky words.

The Nursery children will continue to have lots of fun learning more about sounds, songs and rhymes, stories and rhyming.
