Image of Next week is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

The week commencing Monday 25th November we are starting to learn about Christmas and beginning to work on many exciting Christmas activities. We will be writing our letters to Santa, creating decorations for our tree that is going to be part of Lichfield Cathedral's Christmas Tree festival this year, making decorations to sell at the school Christmas Fayre which takes place on Friday 29th December, and we will also be creating Christmas cards for the local community in Colton.

The reception children also have their flu vaccinations on Monday. We will be sharing the NHS Flu Heroes video to help them feel prepared for this.

In phonics the reception children have learnt all of the phase 2 sounds. We will now continue to develop our reading skills through reading and writing words, captions and sentences, using the sounds we have learnt so far. We will take part in lots of different phonics activities and games to help us embed our skills.

The Nursery children will continue to have lots of fun learning and exploring phase 1 phonics. They will learn more about sounds, songs and rhymes, stories and rhyming. The Nursery children's listening skills are developing and they are participating well in phonics.
