In RE today we started learning about Salvation and the big question 'Why do Christians put a cross in an Easter Garden?' The children discussed their previous learning of incarnation and the parables of Jesus. They commented, 'Jesus was kind.' 'He healed people that were poorly.' 'You pray to God and Jesus.' 'Jesus was born and at Christmas we put on a show for our families to tell them the story.' Today we learnt about Palm Sunday and the triumphal entry. We discussed the story together. We discussed how the crowd cheered and shouted Hosanna and what this meant. Everyone made a streamer, flag or palm leaf and we used them to recreate and role play the events on Palm Sunday as a team. The children showed enthusiasm and enjoyment throughout the lesson and they worked very well as a team to role play the story. We also sang and moved to 'Jumping up and down sing Hoasanna'. We were flying like eagles in RE today!
