Super subitising!

Today class one developed their subtising skills further! We talked about what we could see and how we saw the conkers on our big piece of paper. We could see a 1, a 2, a 3, a 1 and a 1 and that is also 2, a 2 and a 1 and that is also 3! We could see so many different numbers! We drew around the amounts we could see, found the matching numeral on the fan, drew what we saw, wrote the numerals, and looked to see if we had more 1s or 2s. We even used a ten frame to look at the amount for conkers further. There was lots of discussion of the part whole, comparing and finding one more and one less. All of this happened naturally as we made links through our subitising. It was amazing to see!
