In RE today we have been learning about Diwali the Festival of Light that is celebrated by Sikhs and Hindus. We made Diva lamps out of clay.

Greater than, Less than, Equal to
Today in maths the children have been exploring greater than, less than and equal to. We used the straws and cubes to represent this the symbols and quantities within 10.
The Number Line
Today our Year 1 children have using their prior knowledge of the number line to work out one more and one less than a given number.
Our World -North America
In geography we have been travelling around with Buddy the Bee. Today we travelled to North America and learnt about it’s most famous landmarks including the Statue of Liberty. We got creative in class and made some ‘Liberty Crowns’ and some American flags.
Super Writing!
Our Year 1 children have been working so hard on their writing over the last couple of weeks. We have been practicing making our letters a little bit smaller and sitting them on the line.
Today we wrote some fantastic sentences related to our story ‘Little Red Riding Hood’.
