Pinocchio story mapping
Today we story mapped Pinocchio through the classroom and used amazing sentence starters to etell the story to each other. Then we wrote the beginning of the story together as a class.
Poppy biscuit decorating
Today we decorated and ate our Remembrance Day poppy biscuits.
Column method in maths
Today year 2 have been learning to subtraction with exchanging in maths and tomorrow we will learn to exchange using the column method. Any practise you can do at home would be brilliant! It’s such a difficult concept to learn so the more practise the better.

Poppy biscuit baking
Today we baked biscuits in the shape of poppies. Tomorrow morning we will ice them and then eat them at lunch time. We will think about all of the soldiers who fought and helped others while we eat the biscuits tomorrow.

Winter wonderland
We enjoyed singing with Mrs Parkes again this afternoon. We continued to learn Winter wonderland and tried i
singing solo and in duets. Our class have beautiful singing voices. They’re going to perform the songs at the Christmas service in church.
Poppy painting
Today we’ve been painting poppies for Class 4 to turn into an outside display for the front of our class room. Look out for the remembrance display!
Columns method
We’ve been learning to add using the column method this week. Please practise at home as much as you can.
Music with Mrs Parkes
We love having Mrs Parkes for music again. Today we sang Christmas songs and learned a song with a dance.
Balances
In PE we’re learning balances this half term. We started by learning the airplane pose, the dolphin pose, the stork pose, downward facing dog and upward facing dog yoga positions.
Colourful calculations
Year 2 enjoyed being creative in maths yesterday. They were answering 2 digit add 1 digit sums using their chosen methods.
