Packington farm trip
We had a fantastic day at Packington Farm yesterday. We learnt all about the animals they keep there, made dens for animals, walked through the forest, learnt about where our food comes from and made forest school art pictures. Thank you Class 1 for inviting us along.
Problem solving
We’re really enjoying White Rose Maths in Class 2. Year 1 have been starting to problem solve in maths this week by looking for the missing numbers and working out whether statements are true or false.
Football skills
So far this half term we’ve been learning the skills needed to play football. We spent a week learning to dribble the ball, then we learnt to pass it, aim it and this week we’ve been trying to take it off of each other as we’re moving.
GOALLLL!!!
This week in PE we were learning to aim the ball to score a goal. We played battleships by trying to shoot the ball at different coloured cones to sink them. Can you practise aiming a football at home?
Our Dear Zoo
We finished our Dear Zoo unit in English by reading our Dear Zoo stories to each other. It was lovely to share our stories with each other and find out what each other’s perfect pet was at the end.
Cooking with God’s creation
Class 2 flew like eagles this afternoon in their cookery lesson with our school chef. We took responsibility for cooking lunch for the school by picking and washing beetroot, chopping it and then whisking eggs to make a quiche.
I hope the other classes enjoy tasting the quiche we’ve made…
Maths in the sunshine
This morning we had our maths lesson in the sunshine. We used part whole models to count how many tens and ones were in numbers to 100.
