Class 2 have had so much fun in Science this week. We have completed our Living Things and their Habitats topic by researching and making animal habitat dioramas.

Today we've been researching animals and their habitats ready to make dioramas tomorrow.
Forest School
An amazing session today, lots of fantastic teamwork and great listening skills.
Local history walk
Today we went for a walk around Colton learning about the local history. We looked at how the buildings have changed, talking about their previous uses and read a map to work out where we were.
Forest school!
In English we're going to write recounts about our morning in Forest school. We had lots of fun doing a scavenger hunt, finding colours in nature, drinking hot chocolate and making habitats for minibeasts.

This week Year 2 have been learning that when a word ends in CVC (consonant vowel consonant) you need to double it to add a suffix.
Examples:

Year 2 - CGP books
In May Year 2 will take part in the End of Key Stage 1 SATs. These books are excellent for helping children to prepare for the SAT's. Please complete 1 test in each book every week. Please let your child have a go by themselves and then talk to them about the answers. We will then work through it…
