This week Reception began their reading journey with the Monster Phonics!

The children have really enjoyed taking part in their first lessons learning the sounds s,a,t and p. We have learned how to say the sounds and how to write the letter that represents the sound. We have practised forming…

Today in maths we have been partitioning teen numbers into tens and ones. 

We have been learning the sounds s,a,t and p this week. 

We have been practicing pronouncing the sounds clearly. 

We have also been forming the letters in sand, on Chinese writing paper, using pen, and dough!

We have really enjoyed and flown like eagles in our first Monster Phonics…

We transformed our classroom into a prehistoric cave by working underneath the tables, helping us to imagine what it might have felt like to create cave paintings thousands of years ago. 

In art this week we have been creating some sculptures of our faces using mod-roc. We are really pleased with the results. 

Year 3 have loved being outside using chalk to create Roman numeral clocks.

We have had a fabulous morning on our mini beast adventure! We have painted, created, built, worked as a team, face painted, ate snacks, created potions, hunted for mini beasts, made bracelets and more!

We have been using cotton buds and our finger strength to press and mark mark in the paint pouches. The paint was squashy, thick and difficult to press into the shapes but we persevered! 

We have been enjoying learning around the story 'Sharing a Shell.' We explored the textures and materials in our under the sea themed tray. There were anemones, coral and sea creatures to find. We have been learning about the oceans that surround the land on planet Earth. 

In Class 2 today the children have been enjoying our outdoor provision. They made some fantastic mud pies!
