This week in maths our Year 1 children have been looking at number bonds within and to 10. They have used a variety of resources including the part whole model to support their learning. 

In English we have been basing our writing on the story Pumpkin Soup. Today we writing questions that we would like to ask the duck. One of the children then played the character of the duck and the children asked him their questions. He answered them brilliantly! 

In maths our Year 2 children have been looking at addition facts . Today they are using the tens frames to find all the number bonds to 10. 

In Class 2 we have been reading the story The Wishing Chair by Enid Blyton. Today we had our story in front of the fire. 

In art this week we have moved on to the architecture of Norman Foster. Can you recognise this iconic building? 

This September we have learnt about Munni and her life in the slums of India.

The Worship team led a wonderful service in church today. They planned and delivered a psalm from the Bible as today is National poetry week. 
 

We had a great time looking at the features of a newspaper. 

This week, we have been learning all about firefighters as part of our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic. We have enjoyed dressing up and building our own fire engines.

Today in phonics Year 1 have been learning the a-e sound. Angry Red A had left lots of words in our outdoor area and we had to find and record them with a partner.

This week we have continued with our number and place value maths topic and have worked to embed our place value knowledge using activities outside in addition to written tasks.
