Mini scientists
We've done lots of science this term - we have placed pumpkins (both whole and halved) inside and outside and hypothesised which would rot first, we have made nests for hibernating hot water bottles and measured which ones stayed warmer for longer, and most recently, we have gotten the colour out…
Bread!
After looking at wheat and all the wonderful things it can produce, we have made our own loaf from flour!
We each had a turn at pouring the water, mixing the batter into a dough, and then kneading it. Afterwards, we tasted it! I was very pleased that everybody tried some.
Art outside in the autumn sun!
We have been using pastel to draw pumpkin patches on our art books!
Pumpkin hammering!
Today we have hammering gold tees into pumpkins. We did this very safely and it’s great for our fine motor skills!
Autumn festival!
We had a super autumn festival this morning! We sang songs, made autumn crowns, explored autumn jelly and drank hot chocolate!
Nursery drew a pumpkin patch!
Today nursery worked as part of a team to draw a pumpkin patch!
A super trip to the imagination Station!
We had a super trip to the imagination station. We played beautifully as a whole class team and explored becoming the professions we want to be when we grow up!
Tooth brushing!
We are learning about oral hygiene this week! We have all been practicing brushing the teeth and also trying foods good for our teeth. We have used vocabulary like cavity, saliva, fluoride and calcium.
Muddy Maths!
We have been investigating capacity this week. The children were provided with a range of different sized containers, and different sized scoops. We discussed capacity, and which containers we predicted would hold the most soil. We then discussed which would be the most suitable scoops for filling…
Nursery maths
Nursery have been learning and practicing counting forwards and backwards using number rhymes. They also used their fingers to represent amounts! Well done nursery!
VIPs!
We’ve been talking about VIPs, and how God is a VIP to Christians. So of course, we had to have our own VIPs in class, and we treated them to a walk down the red carpet. Some of us then asked our VIPs for a selfie!
