Ordering numbers!
Reception have been ordering numbers from 0-10. We even tried ordering all the way up to 20. We have enjoyed playing what is the missing number and proving which number is missing and why. We have matched amounts to the numerals and made our own representations of amounts up to 10.
Digging for dinosaur bones!
We have been enjoying taking part in lots of dinosaur themed play in class one! We have been digging for dinosaur bones, creating dinosaur lands, drawing dinosaurs and creating dinosaur art work!
Exploring 3D shape
We have been learning more about the properties or 3D shapes. We created our own models using packaging. We thought about the shape of the packaging that we would need for our construction. We started to describe the properties of the shapes.

We used our cutting skills to cut out the shapes and assemble them into a hen!
The Enormous Turnip!
We have been reading and retelling the story of the enormous turnip through role play! We have also created play dough turnips and planted turnip seeds.

We read the Easter story, discussed the events together and talked about how we felt and how Jesus may have felt at the time. We sorted the vents into happy and sad parts of the story. We extended our vocabulary by using words such as; devastated, heart broken, surprised, delighted and…
Our Easter garden!
The children worked together to create an Easter garden to retell the Events of Holy Week. Amazing teamwork and creativity!
Subitising!
Reception are super subitisers! We look at amounts, say what we see and talk about the part whole confidently!
