Fine motor skills!
Nursery have been working on developing their fine motor skills! We have been pinching the pegs and placing them into the peg boards. We talked about the colours and patterns we created.
Poetry Friday!
The children had an amazing time this morning with a visit from Pep the Poet! He got us all up and moving, and had us all in giggles. Thank you Pep!
Making faces with loose parts!
We have been using a variety of materials for example; cotton reels, logs, pine cones and lids to create faces!
Salon fun!
The children had lots of fun decorating the teachers’ hair today in our salon. The children were either attending to hair and makeup, or were serving their customers cake and tea! Lots of creativity and imagination across the classroom, well done reception!
Receptions First Week!
The Reception children have settled into school beautifully. They have been enjoying lots of learning through play, building friendships and settling into school routines. There has been some amazing creativity, teamwork, sharing and learning of new skills already!

We have enjoyed singing nursery rhymes and creating music with the instruments outside!
Testing our boats!
We have enjoyed creating boats, submarines and ships! Some had life boats on them. We tested the boats in the water. There has been lots of discussion, problem solving and creativity!

We explored floating and sinking together in the water tray. We made predictions, tested out the objects in the water and described our observations!
We built our own boats using a variety of materials and tested these out in the water. We found ways to sink them and create a shipwreck!
We have been creating our own mini beast books!
Class one created their own mini beast books. They drew pictures and used their phonics skills to write initial sounds, words and sentences. We have learnt so many interesting facts about mini beasts!
We had a super visit with Bob from the Lichfield Litter Legends!
We learnt so much about caring for the environment with Bob from the Lichfield Litter Legends! We heard his story of Lennie the Litter Legend! We helped to litter pick the school grounds and keep our school tidy! We were so responsible! Well done class one!
