Circuits
This week we have been learning about electricity. The children learnt how to creat circuits to light up a bulb and to sound a buzzer.
The Number Line
Today our Year 1 children have using their prior knowledge of the number line to work out one more and one less than a given number.
Fine motor skills!
Nursery have been working on developing their fine motor skills! We have been pinching the pegs and placing them into the peg boards. We talked about the colours and patterns we created.
Pep the Poet
We all really enjoyed our visit from Pep the Poet. He inspired us to perform some of his poems and create our own pet rocks called Yvonne!
Poetry Friday!
The children had an amazing time this morning with a visit from Pep the Poet! He got us all up and moving, and had us all in giggles. Thank you Pep!
Harvest time...
This week we have had raspberry and coconut sponge with our school-grown raspberries.
Apples, cucumber, peppers, and tomatoes for the salad bar
Roasted butternut squash for veg of the day for roast dinner.

Our World -North America
In geography we have been travelling around with Buddy the Bee. Today we travelled to North America and learnt about it’s most famous landmarks including the Statue of Liberty. We got creative in class and made some ‘Liberty Crowns’ and some American flags.
Making faces with loose parts!
We have been using a variety of materials for example; cotton reels, logs, pine cones and lids to create faces!
Super Writing!
Our Year 1 children have been working so hard on their writing over the last couple of weeks. We have been practicing making our letters a little bit smaller and sitting them on the line.
Today we wrote some fantastic sentences related to our story ‘Little Red Riding Hood’.

Understanding 11-15
Today in maths we have been looking at the numbers 11-15. To help us partition the numbers into tens and ones we made our own part whole models with a partner. We then used these and the base 10 to find out how many tens and ones there are in each number. We are going to use the tomorrow to help…
Understanding 10
In maths today we used the ten frames to see how many different ways we could make 10 using three different coloured counters.
The Lost Son
In RE today we have been learning about parables and the teachings of Jesus. Today we used our drama skills to act out the story of The Lost Son.
