Today we decorated and ate our Remembrance Day poppy biscuits.
Column method in maths
Today year 2 have been learning to subtraction with exchanging in maths and tomorrow we will learn to exchange using the column method. Any practise you can do at home would be brilliant! It’s such a difficult concept to learn so the more practise the better.

Poppy biscuit baking
Today we baked biscuits in the shape of poppies. Tomorrow morning we will ice them and then eat them at lunch time. We will think about all of the soldiers who fought and helped others while we eat the biscuits tomorrow.

Winter wonderland
We enjoyed singing with Mrs Parkes again this afternoon. We continued to learn Winter wonderland and tried i
singing solo and in duets. Our class have beautiful singing voices. They’re going to perform the songs at the Christmas service in church.
We visited the memorial in Colton!
Class one walked to Colton memorial today. We discussed how the garden is used to say thank you, show respect and remember the soldiers. We talked about the cross and poppies. We read some of the names on the cross. Then class one had a go at drawing their own cross and poppies. We showed respect…

Remembrance!
We have used our creativity to make lots of poppy themed artwork today! We painted poppy fields and made poppy crosses to help us remember the soldiers who showed service, helped to protect us and continue to help us stay safe today.
Foodbank thanks...
Our generous donations have been well received by our local foodbank. Reverend Anne was very proud to deliver them for us and they have already been put to good use.
