Please complete lessons 3 and 4 in Week 2 on White Rose Maths Home Learning website. These are the beginning steps for multiplication. Children have looked at this in school so they should be familiar with equal groupings.

  1. What questions could you ask about the picture? E.g. Where is he going? What are the people doing? Where has he come from? How are the people feeling? *Remember to use a capital letter and question mark*
  2. Can you try to answer your own questions?
  3. Write a description about the troll. *Remember capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. Also try to use adjectives to describe*

E.g. The giant troll is taking the roof off of the house. He has a long nose and evil eyes.

  1. Answer these questions:

What is happening in the picture?

Where is the troll going?

What do you think will happen next?

*Try to use ‘because’ in your answers*

  1. Write a description about the troll. *Try to use contractions and adjectives*

E.g. The giant green troll is taking the roof off of the yellow house. He’s got a long, pointy nose and evil eyes. Don’t go near him or he wil step on you with his huge grassy feet.
