Image of Class 4 School Closure Work- Wednesday 3rd June

Hi Class 4,

We hope you have had a good few days. Its been lovely to have some of the children back at school this week - we have had lots of fun and it's been nice catching up with each other. Please find below your work for Wednesday to Friday.

 Mr Wynn and Miss Davis

Please remember that 2 hours of work a day is plenty.

Year 6 pack  Year 5 pack
English:

Again I would like you to re-watch the following short film https://www.literacyshed.com/littleshoemaker.html.

Today we are going to be writing the next part in the story the problem. You will need to try to create cohesion with the previous piece of writing (build up to problem). Think about the ways that you could make links between the two sections? It would be good to pick up from where we left off. We will be starting at the point where the Mr Botte starts making the new pair of shoes. It would be good to continue to showing the battle between the two shoe sellers. Continue until the point where Mr Botte is offered money for his shop.

When you get to the exciting part in the story please try using short sentences to help build up the pace of your story. I look forward to seeing what you have been doing- so don't forget to email me your work.

Extra Challenge:

I would love to see you include the word

reminisce.

Topic

History: I hope you enjoyed lesson 1 of our new topic. This week we will look in more detail at the Romans. I would like you to use the information below (pages 4 and 5) to help you create your own curse tablets using air-drying clay and sticks. Make a Latin name for an imaginary friend, decide on an appropriate Roman crime and ask one of the Roman gods to do something nasty to the perpetrator. The Help Sheet (4 and 5) for ideas. Clay may be a challenge at home but you could use paper and distress it ti make it look like a tablet of stone. Send in some of your work for us to look at and show in school.

Guided Reading

For Guided Reading this half term we will be using Google Classroom and the online text Treasure Island. This can be found on the following link:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/english-ks2-treasure-island-2/zvjr382

Please listen to the episode and then complete your work in Google classroom.

* Don't forget that there are a number of Education City activities and games available to support your work this week. Please login and find them in your 'My City'. They will be linked to the topics we have chosen so will help you with your work. I will change these every Monday.
