Weekly Work Week 5

Week 5

We’re entering our fifth week of home schooling. I’m looking forward to writing our own alien stories and starting to look at some space poetry.

 

Topic:

This week’s topic will be Computing. The focus of Computing will be E-Safety. If you are able to evidence this topic, please send it in on Google Classroom.

 

1. Creating a secure password – watch the video: https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/24837924 Can you create your own secure passwords? Remember not to share them with anyone.
2. Read the story below about Smartie the Penguin. Talk about your answers to the stop and chat questions, then jot down answers.
3.  Watch the Hector’s World videos https://www.esafety.gov.au/educators/classroom-resources/hectors-world/your-personal-information-online First, can you create a like of things that is similar between you and others? Then, can you create a list of what information is personal?
4. Make a poster to advertise E Safety – being safe on the internet. Make sure you include the rules you’ve learnt about being safe on the internet.

1. Read the 60 second read – The Most Heroic Hero, and answer the questions. Can you time yourself reading for 60 seconds? How many words did you manage to read? Send in your scores!
2. Read Meet Tony Ross (you might recognise his books), then answer the questions.
