The week commencing Monday 11th November is a busy week!

On Monday we will learn all about Remembrance. We will learn more about poppies and explore using money to buy poppies from a shop. Nursery will explore and learn about the colour, shape and size of the different coins and Reception will begin using coins to make small amounts to pay for the items in the shop. We will also find out about family history around the theme of Remembrance and the armed forces, and look at some artifacts such as medals from the war. If you have anything that you would like to share with us around the theme of Remembrance please send it into school. The children will also create their own medals. This will all be a great opportunity to talk about our school value for the half term; service.

It is also Anti-bullying week next week. We will focus on friendship and what makes a great friend. We will write about our friends, sort friendship scenario cards and discuss and solve any problems we identify in the scenario cards. We will also create repeating pattern friendship necklaces.

On Friday it is Children in Need! We will learn more about the event and also take part in some Pudsey themed activities.

There will be plenty of other Remembrance and friendship themed activities for the children to access independently throughout the week.

In phonics, the reception children will learn more about the sounds h,b, f,ff,l and ll. We will continue to learn the phase 2 tricky words. We will continue to use and apply our reading skills through lots of phonics activities and games.

The Nursery children will continue to have lots of fun learning and exploring phase 1 phonics. They will learn more about sounds, songs and rhymes, stories and rhyming.
