Hello Class 3!

Hope you've all had a good start to the week! It's been strange getting back into a normal routine of getting some work done each day - hope you've all managed okay!

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Finley and Lawrence, and Sennan's poems and I heard Summer-Mae did a great job too! Well done to everyone for having a go!

Please find below, work for the next two days

Start the day with something active like Joe Wicks at 9am!

  Year 3 Year 4
Maths

https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/

Please complete lessons 3 and 4 of "Summer Term- Week 1". There are videos to watch and then activities to complete. These can be done in your exercise books from school.

*parents - there is an answer section also for you to mark there work*

Education City activities will link to this work.

I know some of you find Fractions challenging - try to use things you have at home to help you. Maybe you could make a pizza or a cake and cut it up into different fractions to help, you could share sweets into fractions or you could get a piece of paper and fold it into equivalent fractions.

English

Today's poem is one of my favourite poems! "On the Ning Nang Nong" by Spike Milligan. It's quite silly but I think you'll all love it too! The poem is all about sounds so you could use some instruments to help perform it (if you don't have any why don't you make some! Dry rice in a plastic bottle makes a great shaker!)

Remember to use your tone of voice and actions to help tell the story of the poem!

Please find the poem on this website and a recording of it being read.

Reading

Read the text "Sword in the Stone" again. Use what you have read to write your own version of the story. You can use the writing plan below to help you. Try to use the same story structure and some of the vocabulary in the original text.

Class 3 Reading 23-04

Don't forget to read the books you have at home and get your parents to ask you questions based on what you have read.

David Walliams is also uploading a story each day on his website that you could listen to. https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses/

Topic

Geography - Towns and Cities.

I would like you to find out the capital cities of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Then create a fact sheet, powerpoint or poster presentation about what you learn. You could look at the population, human features, physical features, famous places, famous people and anything else you could find out.

Need something extra?

Please go onto https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/parents/Support-tools/home-activity-worksheets/5-7s/ and complete the activities for the 3 sessions. This is really important work about internet safety.

I hope you enjoyed the journalling activity I set on Monday. If you did- here's journal sheets for Wednesday and Thursday. Journalling can be really beneficial to mental health, so if your child is struggling with all the changes they are dealing with, this may be a good way to helping them understand their feelings.

Class 3 Journalling 2

I hope you have a great couple of days. Don't forget to email me some of the work you complete and let me know if there's anything I can help you with.

Keep safe.
