Wednesday 29th April 2020

Hi Class 4,

For this week's home learning we would like you to undertake activities from the following suggested lessons;

Please remember that these are here to provide you with a range of choices for the next few days.

We know that these are strange times and the most important thing is to be safe and happy.

2 hours a day is plenty of work.

Have a great few days.

Mr Wynn and Miss Davis

I have moved on to using GoNoodle for my morning fitness at home. It is a great app with some funny dances on it. The link is https://www.gonoodle.com/good-energy-at-home-kids-games-and-videos/

English:

Between now and Monday I would like you to have a go at creating an non-chronological report about the areas of trade you researched and made notes about on Monday.

I would expect that your information text is at least a double page spread (more if you would like?). Try to think about the layout features that you could use to make it easy for the reader to locate the information that they require. This might include clear headings, paragraphs, bullet points and even a glossary of unfamiliar words.

My sentence level challenge for this piece of work is to try to include modal verbs, adverbial phrases, noun phrases and relative clauses. If you can remember how to use them I would love to see you using DE:de and rhetorical questions within your writing.

The use of images and sketches will enhance the look of your writing and when used correctly can be a good way of helping the reader understand the information that you have included, so please use where appropriate.

This is quite a large writing task to undertake so please remember you have until Monday to complete this work (I will not be setting English on Friday).

Good Luck!

Topic

Geography: This week we are looking at Imports and Exports; focussing on the goods that are imported into the UK. Your challenge is to find items around your home that have been imported into the UK. Everything you need is on the Google Classroom.

You will find a template on Google Classroom to help you.

Reading this week

Oliver Twist Episode 10

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/english-ks2-oliver-twist-episode-10/zfvh2sg

This is the final episode of the online story. I hope you have enjoyed it. There is an online film based on the text if you get bored. It is black and white but shows some really great scenes which may help you picture the book even more.

* Don't forget that there are a number of Education City activities and games available to support your work this week. Please login and find them in your 'My City'. They will be linked to the topics we have chosen so will help you with your work. We will update these every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for you.
